How the Training Works
We teach smart media relations skills & how to turn pitches into placements. Through an intensive & interactive one-day workshop, attendees will have a better understanding of how the various news media works & what it takes to be an A+ publicist. Real reporters & producers play a key role in the workshop -- listening to pitches & offering feedback and critique.
Through various creative exercises, attendees learn first hand how to hone their pitching skills & sharpen their pitches. They will be encouraged to participate in brainstorming and sharing client problems & current media relations projects. Through various case histories & placements/broadcast coverage clips, the teachers will demonstrate the strategies/objectives/challenges behind them. Samples of pitch letters, media strategies, media lists, and case histories will be distributed to each participant.
Prior to the workshop, the company will meet with senior management to do a complete assessment of each participant's media relations skill set; weaknesses/areas that need improvement; level of experience, etc. Additionally, the workshop can be customer-tailored & additional topics can be added to fit a variety of needs/objectives.
